About a year ago, I decided to give crochet a try, and wow, I completely fell in love with it!
After watching a few YouTube tutorials, I tackled my first project: a winter headband ear warmer. To my surprise, it turned out way better than I expected!
The directions were so simple to follow, even though I was brand new to the crochet world. I got hooked (pun intended) and ended up making several more to give to my family for Christmas. They’re such quick, thoughtful gifts—seriously, who doesn’t love a cozy winter headband?
Looking back, I can confidently say the reason I picked up crochet so quickly was thanks to the amazing creators behind the tutorials I followed.
If you’re just starting out or looking for some cute, beginner-friendly crochet projects, you’ve come to the right place! I’m sharing my favorite crochet creators and patterns that I think you’ll absolutely love and that I feel anyone can easily complete. Let’s get crafting!
Easy Crochet Winter Headband
First up is CJ Designs and I crocheted her Paine Winter Headband. This headband is so easy to make and is made with bulky yarn so it works up quickly. I can crochet one of these in about 30-40 minutes. They are also a huge hit for gifts with my family this Christmas. You can also play around with different color yarns and have fun with it.
Here is my version of the above crochet headband. I used Lion Brands Wool Ease super bulky and a size 10 crochet hook.
Crochet Winter Pico Stitch Headband
Moving on to a little bit more difficult of a pattern but still super easy and has my favorite stitch which is the pico stitch! This is another one of my favorites and I have made several for myself and others and have it in several different colors. This pattern takes me about an hour or 2 to finish. This pattern is by The Turtle Trunk. The creator has tons of really cute pattern to check out!
Crochet Ribbed Headband with Chunky Yarn
You have probably run across Mj’s Off the Hook if you have been searching for anything crochet. She has tons of videos and posts new updates all the time. She has several beginner friendly patterns and intermediate patterns to follow along with. A wide variety of fun things to create from cute baskets all the way to sweaters.
Easy Crochet Lip Balm Keychain
This is a super easy and quick crochet project perfect for beginners. This beginner friendly crochet keychain only uses one stitch which is the single crochet. It doesn’t get much easier than this! The only thing that you may struggle with when creating your keychain is keeping the stitches really tight! You don’t want your chap stick to fall out so it’s important to keep your stitches tight. You can dress up your keychain with beads and tassels too or whatever you want! Have fun with it. This project takes about 30 minutes to an hour and uses worsted yarn and a size 3.5 crochet hook.
Crochet Lip Balm Keychain Number 2
I wanted to share this keychain with you as well. It’s also super easy and the end result it so cute! These make great gifts and you can finish the project in less than an hour! Kristen does a great job explaining everything!
There you have it! I hope you enjoy creating some of my favorite crochet patterns that I found when I was in my early crochet stage. I still love crocheting all of these projects especially when I need a quick gift idea for someone. Let me know what your favorite crochet patterns are and who your favorite artist are to follow!
